Horticulture at Santa Fe Community College

A combination of classroom hours and occupational internships will prepare you to enter the job market in landscaping, greenhouse, lawn service, and other fields. Our Horticulture program will prepare you for landscaping, groundskeeping, nursery, greenhouse, and lawn service careers. To succeed in this field you need problem-solving skills; written and verbal communication skills; the ability to make decisions and coordinate work activities of others; self-motivation; and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, balancing, climbing, and stooping. Classes meet in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building, which includes greenhouses, a lab and classrooms. Adjacent land is used for test plots and community gardens.
